FIRST YEAR made Harper's Ferry Mississippi Rifle (M 1841), Colt-altered, 1862, 16th Vt. association

ITEM #: S-10

PRICE: SALE! $3,500.00

Description:

The 1846 lock in this Mississippi rifle lock was made by Harper's Ferry during the first year in which they produced this model.  The gun was altered by Colt in 1861 for Civil War use, serial numbered, re-sighted, and re-inspected.  Colt mixed parts, so this arm has a contractor-made stock and a later barrel, all totally correct. But think about it: what would you have to pay for the Colt rifle sight alone? Its  provenance associates it with the 16th Vermont Regiment.
