Pre-Revolutionary British Sea Service Musket

Description: This is the Pattern 1752 short sea service musket, painted black.  Found in Rhode Island where the British fleet wintered during the Revolution.  Three- screw lock signed "I WILLIAMS" "16" for John Williams (worked 1701 - 1720) and "1716."  Lock evidently recycled by the Ordnance.  Stock bears storekeeper's and inspector's stamps.  Original flint-lock.
