French and Indian War Period small sword, brass hilt.

PRICE: $850.00

Description:

Triangular (colichemarde) blade 20 ¾ x ¾ inches with inlaid brass scrolls comprised of typically French minute triangles.  Evidently made for a small person, perhaps a cadet.  100% original untouched condition, even retains the red “turkey” leather washer at junction of blade and hilt.  The circular pas-d’ans, large enough to receive the fingers, mark this as an early product, c. 1750-1760.  No markings.
