Revolutionary War Period American short sabre, Cherry grips, Brass 'Liberty Cap' guard. Scabbard

PRICE: $5,000.00

Description:

Nearly the same as Neumann’s Battle Weapons, 64SS. Yet quillon, instead of curving down, curls sideways, so it could be frugally formed from a sheet of brass, folded to form the knuckle-bow.  Brass-mounted, as is original leather scabbard (drag lost).  Blade 26 x 1 ¼ inches, basal half with most of its original brilliant fire-blue.  Maple grip with ALL of its original delicate single-strand brass wire wrap.  Extraordinary condition.
