24 holes in white pine block, 2 ¼ inches deep, cal. 0.72 for 0.69 French "Charleville" cartridges.Leather tacked to block with hand-headed iron tacks (bottom) and two attractive rows of brass tacks on each end. Stubs of an over-the-shoulder suspension strap remain sewed to the belt.Iron buckle without roller.Block is 3 inches wide x 8 inches long x 3 inches tall. Some tears but no losses save for half of bayonet scabbard and shoulder strap.For better or worse, someone applied a "preservative" to the leather.
